Many people are justifiably concerned about what the scar will look like after a thyroid operation. I've heard that after a year or two, it tends to blend in enough that it looks like a skin wrinkle on your neck. Before that, the scar is likely to be visible if you wear open collared shirts.
At various intervals after the second surgery, I took pictures of my scar. They are shown further below.
